The Brooklyn Northern United 2015 AGM is being held at 7pm, 25 November 2015 at the Brooklyn Bar and Bistro. This is a very important event for our club: it’s basically what will set us up for yet another successful year in 2016.
The AGM is your opportunity to have your say in how the club is run, and give us their fresh ideas and feedback. Every club member is welcome to attend and speak at the AGM.
We’ll also be voting in a new Chair and Committee and this year we will have a number of smaller committee roles available that will help keep the club ticking throughout the year. No amount of help is too small, so if you feel like you can, we’d love to see you at the AGM.
We're looking for donations of (clean!) boots, shinpads, and socks, both adult and children's sizes.
Please bring them along to prizegiving where there will be a collection box..
Last year a small group of football parents set up a project to match disadvantaged children with donated football boots. A trial run with Onslow football club successfully matched hundreds of boots with children from schools in the Cannons Creek area.
Donated boots were collected at prize giving, stored then handed them out in term 1 before the start of the following season.
It was hugely successful. The children were very grateful and happy, though there weren't enough shoes to meet the need. Onslow has committed again and the program is being expanded to collect more boots and help more children. There's also now a partnership with “Boots for Grassroots” which has a similar program for rugby. They donate adult/senior boots in NZ and the Pacific.
It's that time again, time to celebrate a helluva season at Brooklyn Northern United with our annual do and prize giving.
The event will be held at Brooklyn Bar and Bistro on Saturday 12 September and kicks off at 7pm.
BNU club members are welcome to bring their partners and friends to help us celebrate. There's a $5 per person entry fee and there will be discounted drinks. As we're responsible hosts, we'll be providing some food on the night.
There's also a red and black theme - so show your true colours on the night!
Lastly - we'll be dropping some of the formalities in favour of a good old party to celebrate our year.
See you there!
